Netflix Gamera Rebirth Trailer

Posted by GearGades - March 25th, 2023

The trailer for Gamera Rebirth, due to come out on Netflix has been made public.

Now, I've already had not made anyform of comments for this 6(8?) episode show, as I'm keeping myself reserve on this one - after the bad performance of the Godzilla Anime trilogy, mostly by its lack of Kaiju after the campaing and weak human characters, and the weirdness of Godzilla Singular Point insane time paradox plot even though I consider the Humans an improvement over those of the Trilogy - had made me quite reserve for the Gamera show until I saw a trailer, which has just been release, and GOD D*MMIT, the choice of Animation couldn't be a worst one.

Is essentially that cell (I think that's how its called? correct me please) CGI - for all the Human Characters and Kaiju - that when they move it looks like stop motion. I really hate this form of animation.

The Show better be flippig Good - Better than the foremention Godzilla Animes - because the choice of Animation is already a Minus 10 Points in my Score of 100 and watching the trailer I just couldn't overlook that fact.

I am gonna guess this show is going to be bad, because whenever Netflix is given a beloved series they tend to fuck it up and the show/movie is ass and people add onto their list why Netflix is fucking horrible

While they have fucked up royally with live action adaptations games and animes (and I hold NO hope for the live action One Piece) and I'm still livid for the cancellation of the Dark Crystal Age of Resistance show, their excursion (if you will) into the Kaiju genre has indeed been less than spectacular.

The Ultraman Anime they have running based on the Manga where human wear Ultraman suits and show powers since some of them are children of Ultraman, has been largely ignored by the fan base; btw, I did not know it was running its 3rd and final season - that let's you know its level of relevance; but Godzilla was probably hit worst when handed to Netflix.

An Anime movie trilogy ruined by the over hyping of Kaiju that (outside of Godzilla and the Wyvern things which are byproduct of him) don't show up, and perhaps some of the worst written Human Characters I've seen. After watching the first movie, I hated the main character so much I skipped his scenes, did not care for his reasons and motivations.

Singular point on the other hand was an improvement on Human Characters and shows Kaiju; however its derailed by using too much the humans, holding Godzilla for too long, rehashing the idea of his evolution from Shin (though each form is representative of a Show Era Kaiju), showing Kaiju only to killed them off fast (THEY REALLY DID DIRTY TO ANGUIRUS) and the insane Time Paradox Plot, and worst of all commits the greatest Sin: A Netflix Cliffhanger.

Needless to say, I don't trust Netflix to handle another Kaiju property again. I'm impress, with such a bad performance on Godzilla, Kadokawa Productions (who now owns Gamera and other Daiei licenses) did not pause an thought things through, but then again it seems to be on par with these Japanese studios to get a quick buck on the license regardless what Netflix does with it.
